But as she said, she doesn’t want to renew with them. Hence the termination fee.

After my wife died I asked to terminate her plan. I can still hear the laughter. My name was on the contract too, so I was stuck.

And any time you change anything on your contract, your contract automatically renews for another 2 – 3 years.

Ugh, it’s all true. Sadly. Having a phone plan shouldn’t be so painful. I know there are companies that have month-to-month plans, but they don’t work for us. If you can do it though, I’ve heard the no-contract phone plans are great.Hello Cathy clan!

These are old strips but the same thing is still going. You’d think people would wise up and rebel.

The biggest hook is when you need to replace a broken phone. You can have it for just the cost of sales tax if you extend your contract.Or, you can pay hundreds of dollars for the phone without an extension.Pay for it now, or pay for it every month for the next two years. Your choice.

Once your current plan is up, I highly recommend the Straight Talk plan from Wal Mart, no contract, $45 per month for all the talk, text, internet, etc. It’s actually through Verison.

As little as I like to talk and text, a $49.99 Alcatel smart phone from Metro PCS along with a fairly inexpensive pay-as-you-go, no-contract plan is the only way to go for me. Anything more than that would just be a silly waste of money for us.
Hi, rgcviper!

I switched to Republic Wireless a couple of months ago. The plan I chose gives me unlimited talk and text (no roaming). I have unlimited data over any WiFi (no data off WiFi). Calls are over WiFi when available, but off cell towers when not. It costs $10 a month ($11.97 with taxes and fees). They have plans with data as well. So far, I love it. Was paying 3 times as much for talk only.
