Cathy: I can't eat a bagel at the office anymore without hearing the "low carb" speech... Can't get a bun at a restaurant without getting hte "low carb" stare... at least I can still buy a loaf of bread at the grocery store without being afraid to show my face!! Or one sort of like it. Cashier: low-carb alternatives are on aisle 4, sir! You're looking kind of bulky.

It was too bad about Atkins. Isn’t he the one who slipped on the ice, hit his head, and died? He did have the right idea, but took it to too far in the beginning. The low-carb thing seems to be making a comeback lately. Just grab a nice Cauliflower head, and it can be made into a baked crust for many a pizza lover. Has anybody actually tried it? Cauliflower is the new Tofu to be used for substitutions.

I thought Atkins died of a heart attack. Some of us still eat carbs — 76 months “at goal” on Weight Watchers and I eat what I want.
