Voice on phone: Please continue to hold. Your call is important to us. Not so important that we'd hire anyone to actually answer the phone, but really important.
Been there, banged my head on the table. The “best” holding experiences are when they tell you how much time they estimate you will be on hold. At least with that, I can decide if it’s worth my time or not. One time, with the state of Maryland after tax time, they estimated I would be on hold for over an hour. Sure enough, I was. Thank God for speaker abilities and cordless phones!.Regarding hendelca’s comment yesterday about auto attendant… I despise the ones that have you say the option you want or want you to describe your problem. I usually end up yelling because it can’t understand what I’m saying. And I’m certainly not saying my SSN or any other private business out loud in public. .Hello Cathy friends!
@lightenup – When asked to describe your problem, just say “No”. It won’t understand you and will ask you to repeat yourself a few times, but eventually it will “find someone who can help you”.
lightenup I also really hate the ‘say’ the option. Gets really frustrating when you end up in the wrong department because it misunderstood what you said. By the time I try what O-Kay said, I am ready to hang up in frustration and deal with another company that has better customer service – hopefully with real people working for them.
If my call is so important to them, then why don’t they ever seem to have enough people there to actually answer the phone and talk to me? My time is just as valuable as theirs is and I don’t have all day to just sit around and wait for them to deign to answer my call! As for auto-attendants, I hate those too and I’ve never act-ually heard of anyone else liking them either. Customer Serviceis anything but these days! :-(
Hi, rgcviper!
Hello and Happy Thursday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyone had a really nice day today! :-)
For anyone who is a Red and Rover fan or just a dog lover in general, I posted some really cute pix/memes off my Pinterest board over there today so for anyone who hasn’t been there yet and is interested in checking them out, I hope you like them! :-)

Unfortunately there is no alternative when calling agencies such as the Social Security Administration . . . ☹

I’d roll my eyes, but this one’s a little too close to reality.
A nice [head-desk] from Cathy’s mom, though.
HI, MOM. Greetings, Clan.
