This brings back a troublesome memory of a lunch my sister and I were having in a small town restaurant a few years ago. This woman, about our own age, got up and told us SHE and her husband were moving to a table, far, far away from us so they could enjoy their lunch. This was said loudly and in front of many dinners and the owners of the family run place. She said we were talking too loud and our topic offended her. My sister and I are seasoned citizens, don’t use bad language, and we were discussing a TV drama show, not real people. It was a very low moment for me. I let that cruel woman hurt me and embarrass me, though I told her (in front of everyone) that I thought her listening in was bad manners.
