You can definitely do it on your own, but hardly online, as you need to be there. Bought a rental by ourselves and sold another house without an agent, saved over $30k that went into our pocket for little time spent. Most of the time we did spend was actually to get the house ready for sale, which we would have done with an agent anyway. Worth giving it a try BEFORE you let the vultures get you! ;-) If the seller has an agent though, you might not save much unless you can talk to the seller directly or get the commission halved since only one agent would be involved.
