Remaining silent is sometimes the best thing you can do – and also the hardest thing to do.
Just got back from a quick 3 day trip to the Big Smoke (Toronto). Worried about the water level and ice situation the whole time. Still ok although the neighbours worked all day yesterday getting tractors in place and sandbagging. The real issue is the ice – it is still about 6" thick and the wind was from the south which was forcing the ice over the retaining wall since the water is so high. Water level even higher this morning – right at the top of the retaining wall but the wind switched to the north so the ice is now at the other end of the lake and we are safe for a while. The town’s marinas have suffered considerable damage to the docks as the ice was pushed right over the breakwall. The bad news is the lake is expected to rise another 1/2 metre (about 20") over the next few days. We are all hoping the wind stays from the north until the ice is much thinner. The one thing we all agree on, is never underestimate the power of Mother Nature.
I hope everyone is having a great Friday and looking forward to a good weekend.

The great gifts are rare and often painful. Take them when offered. Appreciate the sacrifice of the giver. Say thank you. Reciprocate.

Yes, it certainly does look like Cathy’s mom is going to explode. Cute firecrackers above her head! :-)
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Friday! Have a wonderful day and weekend, all!

I hope you, your house and your town stay safe, hendelca!! As for Cathy’s Mom…tis better to say something than to “bottle” it all up.

Um … how thoughtful? Better take cover to avoid the explosion, though.
HI, MOM. Happy Friday, Clan.
