Saleswoman: Eighty-nine short years ago, women couldn't vote. This week, we march to the polls in a triumphant symbol of today's strong, empowered woman: the peep-toe bootie!! Cathy: I beg your pardon?? Saleswoman: Tall enough to shatter those 18 million little foot and ankle bones... sassy enough to take on the world... unless, of course, it's snowy, sleety, slushy or slipper outside. Then it's a frozen peep-toe bootie! Cathy: Help us. Saleswoman: Right this way! We also have kicky new foot-warming support tights!

Why bother with peep-toe boots. Just brave the weather in your high-heeled gladiator sandals.

If the weather is warm enough to expose my toes, then I’ll wear sandals. But if it’s cold enough for boots, then I want my feet ….. every single inch of them ….. to be covered so they’ll stay warm and dry. Any other way of thinking just seems very strange to me!

So the boots will shatter 18 million foot and ankle bones? How could anyone resist a purchase like that? [Eye-roll]
HI, MOM. Happy Sunday, “Cathy” Clan.

Deborah Moody voted in 1655. Linda Taft voted in 1756. Any unmarried woman who owned property could vote from 1776-1807 in New Jersey. The history of women voting in the US is a lot more complex then they teach in history class.

It is a frozen peep toe bootie up here lately. We spent Halloween night flying back from Phoenix (Air Canada dropped the evening flight up from Toronto so had to take the red-eye). Got to North Bay at 9:00am only to discover the highway north was closed due to multiple collisions. (something about the first ice and snow storm of the year). Had to detour through Quebec. Took an hour longer but we did not mind – forgot how scenic that route is. Just glad I was able to stay awake and focused on the road since I do not sleep well on planes. Ah well, a little warmer the last two days so most of the snow is melting away. Sedona was a little colder than normal this year so did not do as much hiking but still did the eating so I have a few pounds to shed before the Christmas eating season begins.
Glad to be back and finally caught up with Cathy and the comments. Hope everyone had a warmer weekend!

I will be so glad when election day is over to get a (brief) respite from all the negative political ads. Most of them are for neighboring cities so I can’t even vote for/against them.

Election day is never over anymore…they just start the new one the next day. Glad you got home safe hendelca…it was snowy here on Halloween night too.
