Cathy: I need a snack. Brush teeth to change mouth chemistry! Floss teeth to stimulate gums! Drink sparkling water to refresh palate and give tummy the "full" feeling! Do jumping jacks to wake up the self-control center of the brain! WHEW! ... I need a snack. 8:00 pm. 8:03 pm.

Nothing takes the edge off wanting a snack except a snack. Have a cupcake.

I prefer a salty go-to snack to a sweet one. Why can’t we crave…oh say, raw string beans?

I stopped stocking my kitchen with snacks like chip or cookies. Doesn’t always work because sometimes I will actually go out and get a snack like ice cream. But most of the time inertia/laziness will prevent me from going to the trouble of going out for a snack.

IF she would continue the sparkling water/jumping jacks routine every 3 minutes, not only could she delay the need for a snack, but she could lose weight – assuming she would also do more than 2 jumping jacks!

She would then be up all night running to the bathroom…and might decide to visit the refrigerator since she is up!
