A credit card in the hands of a shopaholic like Cathy is never a good or wise thing to have. It’s no wonder she complains to the CPA every year at tax time about how she doesn’t have any money but what IS a wonder is that neither one of them have ended up in bankruptcy court at least once by now due to their sometimes out-of-control spending habits! :-/

The mall does need you, Cathy. Many malls are slowly dying. Some in the DC area where I grew up have reconfigured (or just torn down) to be mixed use developments. And this is in Washington DC, a thriving, well-off city. Where I live now, metro Atlanta, it is a mixed bag… some malls are fine, but several have closed or are on their last legs. Even the malls that are doing okay are much less busy than when I grew up. Much of this has to do with online shopping, but also because I would rather go to the Target that is much closer to me and get what I need in one stop, than I would take a trek to the mall and wander around trying to find what I want.
Fun fact: the mall in Stranger Things is in the Atlanta area. It hadn’t been updated since the 80’s and is a “dead mall”, so it was perfect for the series. They just modified it for filming and it worked out well. For something else “fun”, google wrestling in mall, and you’ll see a video from a couple of days ago where a wrestler jumped off the second floor onto a wrestling mat on the first floor. Crazy…
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Wednesday!

Maybe I am old (well I am) but shopping in a covered mall in January blizzard with temps around -40 sounds a whole lot better to me than having to go from one end of a strip mall to the other outside in the cold. A strip mall is what our covered mall is being converted into. Ah well, I don’t do much shopping anyway.
Please enjoy your day!

Yup—somehow I knew this Valentine would be … a little different. Leave it to Cathy to make my prediction come true!
HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.
