I’m not saying my way is the only way or even the right way, but it is the way, today.

We have such positive memories of our mother’s and grandmother’s food, and most of it was delicious because it had sugar, fat and/or salt which we probably wouldn’t add today. My grandparents had high blood pressure and I’m sure the extra salt in my grandmother’s amazing food didn’t help. A couple times a year is fine to indulge in delicious food that makes you happy. So go for it!

I know what my way is, Anne, but you’re not gonna like it …

Cathy’s mom is right – the ‘owner’ of the kitchen you are in decides on how things are done in that kitchen. Of course you can always reserve the right to not like it done that way but your only option in that case is to ‘get out of the kitchen’.

Warm but stormy here – rain, not snow. A good day for catching up on inside tasks. Have a fun Sunday.

This is from 1999, but I immediately assumed the costume turkey beaks were COVID masks!

I agree the kitchen owner decides, but I would never put sugar in pie crust…maybe that is what makes bakery or store bought pies seem too sweet to me.
