I doubt this happens today. Everyone has their own smart phones to order on, and won’t use the company’s computers. Using the time you should be working is another, more modern kettle of fish.

Unless you work on an assembly line, work ebbs and flows throughout the day. As long as you are doing your job, most companies find that happy employees are more productive.

Irving’s colours are starting to show. If he wants to do it is ok, anyone else not ok. Not a good start for a relationship at all.

The co-owner of our company who is in charge of all other employees except my developer expects everyone to work constantly from the official start time (and does not like it if they are not at their desks ready to work at the minute their day starts) until their end time – except for legally mandated breaks of course. It took me many years to convince him that is not a valid expectation at all. He still complains to me (fortunately not our employees) when he sees someone on their phone during working hours. And, yes, we have lost some key employees because of his attitude. My way of treating employees must be a good way – my developer has stated a few times that if I leave the company then they will leave too.

A fine Saturday to enjoy today. Please enjoy it.

I know why today’s comic has only four panels: What’s left of Irving is probably in panel five, and it ain’t a pretty sight … ha.

    HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.

Most people manage to get their jobs done…if they make a phone call or stand around the break room who cares. The nice thing about working from home for me now, is that there is nobody looking over my shoulder. I see my clients, I enter my notes, I do my reviews, I’m done and free.
