My cat Raz is a low-maintenance cat but positively insists on five minutes minimum of “lovey dovey” time each morning. If I should forget, she follows me around, meows, and will not be distracted by offers of food. During that special time, she writhes around on her elevated, cat-tree bed while I give her a thorough cat massage, wipe her eyes, if necessary, and give her a nibble on the ear. Sometimes it may last six or seven minutes, if we are both agreeable. After that time, though, she stands up, thanks me very much but has to go off and attend to some important catting.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re gone 3 seconds, 3 minutes, or 3 hours, your dog is always happy to see you when you come back home again ….. and the unbridled joy they show in that very moment is one of the things I love the absolute MOST about them! U●ᴥ●U

At least she didn’t charge you $100 just to get through the door, Electra.

Meanwhile, I keep begging my cats to be lap cats. I’d love an excuse to sit for hours petting a cat. “Sorry, I can’t get up. I have a cat on my lap.”
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Thursday! Have a great day, all!

My cat probably feels the same way. All he wants is pets when we get home from work.

The theme park comparison can apply to a lot of things.

Good point, Electra. (She has the coolest name, for the record.) At least the joy is there when the humans finally return.
I’m preparing to celebrate my latest trip around the sun on Friday. Hard to believe, but I look forward to a good day. Hope yours goes well, too.
HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
