If we could buy their way to health, happiness and prosperity, would we be skinnier or fatter?

The spa at the Disney Resort Aulani outside of Honolulu was like a spa should be – relaxing, serene, with no attempts to upsell their services or push their products. The spa on our cruise ship however – not so good. We spent the whole hour explaining to the staff that if we wanted a hot stone massage we would have booked one and no, we do not want to purchase all the products you are pushing. Not the least bit relaxing!

Relaxing here today though. My wife just left to visit her sister for a couple of days. House is really quite now. I hope your day is quiet and relaxing too.

They must have spotted the “S” for sucker on Cathy’s forehead, or Mabel called ahead and told them that Cathy likes buying things. I doubt I would buy any of that. The only things that I buy on trips are a magnet and a t-shirt to remember it by. For sure I’m not buying 6 tapes that tell me how to breathe (eye roll).

I love ‘proclaim your freedom from materialism for only $175.’ (paraphrased.) That pitch shows up too often. ‘Things to buy to simplify your life.’ and my personal favorite— ‘Tools you need in order to downsize.’
