The past few Christmases, I have gotten most of my presents from the Holiday Market in Downtown DC (near the Museum of American Art/National Portrait Gallery). Merchants from the DC Metro Area sell their wares to customers. I have really nice gifts for friends and family and I also help local merchants on the holidays. As for catalogs, I have very few in my mailbox these days. So much is available online these days. To insist on buying local all the time is too utopian these days in much of the country. But we do our communities and our planet a favor by buying local when we can.
And of course many of those items won’t be in this year’s catalogues – if there are any catalogues this year. I still remember when I was very young both Eatons and Simpsons sent out Christmas Wish Books. Loved browsing through the toy section even after I was too old for toys – wait, I never got too old for toys.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend for my fellow Canadians. Happy weekend to everyone else.

Cathy’s desk is like an archeological excavation. While mine isn’t that bad, maybe I should clean mine today. Thanks for the inspiration, Cathy!
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Friday! Have a great day, all!

Hey, take the win and throw away the evidence. You gotta bask in the sunshine while you can.
