As people are marrying later, generally after cohabiting for some time, they already have “things for the home”. Still, cash gifts are crass.

In some ways, I long for the simpler days of the past. Sure seems like we’re over-technolgy-ing ourselves more and more …

HI, MOM. Happy Sunday, “Cathy” Clan.

This is why I leave gift selection to my wife – she is good at it. Me, I can never figure out a good gift for someone who already has anything. My older daughters wedding gift from me was an expense paid wedding and honeymoon. Figured that would be appreciated.

Fun day. I drove my wife to a town 2 hours away so she could catch the bus to Toronto and from there the train to visit our grandson and help out my daughter and son-in-law for a while. We do get one bus a day through our town but it does not get to Toronto in time to catch the last train of the day. Turns out the bus was a half hour late but so was the train so everything worked out.

I hope everyone had a more relaxing day than I did.

I’m with Mom on this one…the quest for money is so unbecoming. (I usually give money, and a gift but I like it to be my choice.).
