When I was dating, I first had a compact car, and then I had a sports car. I don’t think either one got me more interest or less. Now I am about to have an empty nest, but I still bought an SUV recently. My middle aged sister has a Porsche sports car. I think we all just buy the cars that make us happy now, and aren’t concerned about what future other people may or may not think.

Oh wow! Cathy’s only concern is whether or not she likes it – and it has room to store all her purchases on the way home. To me, even when I was young and single, a car is a method to get from here to there when it is too far to walk. I never did care what it looked like. For many years I would buy my father’s old car for whatever he was going to get for a trade-in so had no say in what car I purchased, Now I buy an SUV with lots of cargo room so when I do lighting for an event I have room to carry all my equipment. I really don’t want to have to pull an store a trailer. Other then when I have to carry stuff, if I lived in the city like MarshOstroff I would rely on walking, taxis, or public transportation. It can be much cheaper than owning a vehicle. Here, the nearest bus stop is about a 45 minute walk – and it is only another 5 minutes to the post office so why bother with the bus.

Love my Fiat…before that it was a Mini…before that VW’s…I hate big cars.

Maybe she should close her eyes and say “Surprise me”. Would save a lot of time and effort …
Personally, I’m a sedan driver. Plenty of room while staying pretty economical and looking good.
