Matrilineal insanity

Hoarding is genetic.

I suppose if you’re not drinking milk and coffee out of mason jars you’re not recycling. You know. Like the good old days.

You’re a big girl now, Cathy. Time to do your own thinking. On one hand, there’s no need to keep stuff you’re not going to use or that doesn’t make you happy. There’s also no need to buy more and it’s also better to find a new home for the stuff you don’t want (rather than send it to a landfill).

Now this I understand. I cannot wear shoes in anyone’s house without hearing my mother telling me to take them off. I also hear her loud and clear when walking with a female – “A gentleman always walks on the outside”. After 47 years of marriage my wife still does not understand why I aways maneuver to be on the outside of the sidewalk. It is not just Mom though, I hear Dad yelling at me if I ever make a grammar error while speaking – especially if I use ‘me’ instead of ‘I’.
