Yes, this is cattitude. My own cat thinks of me as the one to go and waken so that he may be escorted downstairs and released from the house on a whim. I’m convinced the sound he calls me by translates to “Jeeves”.
When my cat shows an interest in the open refrigerator, she knows there is nothing in there for her. What she does know is that it will get my attention and I will immediately find her something for her to eat: kibble or canned food. It’s the signaling that counts.
Mine are more about ANY kitchen activity. I have a new stove, Gracie sits and stares at it. When will it make ME something yummy? Are you sure it’s working? Mostly it’s activity around my sink. I keep their dishes, and wet food near there. Trash can under the sink, so no peeking from the kitties. Sara sits back, patiently, she lets Gracie annoy me. She’s the kitty in my avatar, wrapped up for a long, cold winter.
