You may as well try to stop the sun from shining, Mona.

Sisters don’t count. Any apology given to a sister is forgotten five minutes later.

Interesting…he rips off two expletives that would be offensive to a lot of people, but she has to disguise a more or less every-day word. Is Babcock making a point about the language usage of the two characters, or what? I’m puzzled.

Ray C - I agree - someone must believe it is okay to offend the object of another’s worship than it is to offend an MTV television series about idiots.

Maybe the point is that the language is part of his jack-assidness. (Or is it jack-assidity?) Anyway, I got so involved in that conundrum, I didn’t really appreciate a d*rn good punch line. (By the way, I learned last week that if you write “DAR_N” in here, you will get a bleep substituted. I am more confused than Pierre, and that’s saying a lot.

Runar, I’m still waiting to hear that sister story of yours.

Whenever my sister did something nasty to me, she got away with it without apologizing. When I offended her (and anything could offend her, even if it wasn’t offensive), I was expected to apoligize. When I did, I still got treated as if I hadn’t. When our mother died, the house was to be sold and the money divided; she used her position as executor to keep the house as a rental property instead, thus effectively cutting me out of the will. If I could go back to early childhood, I’d kill her, make it look like an accident, and grow up happily as an only child.

Was she older or younger? My younger sister got away with a lot more then I did. That said, it’s sad when parents favor one child over another and make it obvious. Is your sister aware of how you feel?

Se’s six years older, and though I’ve had no contact with her for six years she knows how I feel. I wouldn’t push her out of the way of a speeding bus (more likely vice-versa).

I was spoiled a good deal as the baby but I don’t feel like I “abused” that too much. (Not much of a surprise that I would think that but my 3 older brothers and one older sister have yet to express any desires to shove me in front of a bus but then again I haven’t swindled them out of money or precious keepsakes from a dearly departed loved one either.)
