Well, the thing is a lot of people change their minds. I sure did. I never liked kids even when I was one. When I was 26 I decided to do my part for a better world and volunteered to teach English in China to 8-year-old Chinese kids. After that, I changed my mind completely and now I have 2 kids of my own.
When I was young and idealistic, I pushed for Zero Population Growth. My sister worked to become an honored member of her profession. Now we look at my poor indebted brother’s children and sigh.
Yeah, lots of people change their minds or divine intervention strikes. I only wanted one kid…I did that and then fell in love with a man who had 3…we ended up raising all 4 in the house together and I love those little buggers to pieces!
People do change. The problem when it is the partner who tries to effect that change. It doesn’t work out well. “Oh, he’ll warm up to children once we have one!”I’ve taught children in Korea, the States and France. Hasn’t changed my own view about having kids thus far. I’ll take a pass.

I thought Mona was a little bit older. You know, kind of world wise. Been around the block, as it were…. I’ll have to check it out…

Reminds me of Einstein’s quote: Women marry men hoping they will change. Men marry women hoping they will not. So each is inevitably disappointed.

Is this the beginning of the end here? It should be! Not a match from day 1! But the story line kept us on our toes!
