Well…I thought the gag was funny. Yes there are people being victimized, but you guys aren’t gonna give up your TV and movies because pedophiles and other awful people are being characterized…
I don’t consider it so much as profiling than characterizing to get points across. Hence, the awful “reality” of TV/movies. It would be more like real life to present an average looking guy as the pedophile, because that’s reality….
For many years I had a subscription to the Wilma Theater in Philadelphia. Besides the (at least) annual appearance of a naked woman on stage, one of the pleasures for me was to look over the cast members’ credits to see how many had been on one or another “Law and Order” program. Almost always there was at least one, and more usually about half the cast. (But couldn’t be sure which were perps and which were vics.)
it is probably a career advancement to play an autopsy subject on one of the csi shows…
rarely are victims, perps, cops or scientists not portrayed as a twenty or thirty something beautiful person
Generally speaking, shows that cast out of the Los Angeles talent pool DO have prettier actors than those which cast out of New York. But one great thing about Law & Order is that, drawing from the Broadway wannabes rather than the Hollywood wannabes, even the bit parts are played by excellent actors.

Sorry, but I don’i think that’s funny. Ms. Babcock normally does a much better job than that.

For variety’s sake, how about a non-creepy pedophile?
