Oh, c’mon, Tantor! Donna is a sweety, ditzy but not dumb, and endearing. Pierre, on the other hand, is out of his league here. He can’t keep up with either Donna or his sister.
Sisyphos, i haven’t said (today) that Donna is dumb! but she’s far from bright, and her ditzyness makes her annoying sometimes! tell mona about that! and it looks she’s not very tolerant…
the way I see things: mona is a bit misanthropic, but much more tolerant and understanding than Donna

you know, i think i read on the comments here once a suggestion that perhaps michael is autistic. it would certainly be interesting to see this comic pick up such a story arc – it would be deeper than anything i’ve seen from it yet. I do think that the characters are deep enough to handle it though. let’s see!
Mona may have a short tolerance span towards idiots and the wilfully annoying, but she appears to be endearingly sympathetic towards other misfits who get a raw deal from orthodox society. Maybe because having once seen the inside of a mental ward, she knows what it’s like herself? I can see her adopting the resocialising of Michael as a hobby…
