I can see that’s a dog’s breakfast- but it’s pretty lame, all the same…….

Acutally poppy1313, we use both to avoid confusion. Center is a verb, and Centre is a noun generally indicating a physical place as in: he centered the picture on the wall of the new art centre.

But some words are the same like the guys from Poland that opened up a car detail shop and called it ‘Polish polish’
