Pardon me, aficionado, but it seems to me that modern jet airliners are “jump started” using a Ground Power Unit (mobile or fixed) and an Air Starter Unit. (see Ground Support Equipment)
Good morning all you CDers waiting for your flights, hope this puts your minds at ease.
Good morning, Lonewolf, cleokaya, Dry, sugie, Grog, x_Tech, JP Steve, thebighappyelf3469, afficionado, Unbound and CDers everywhere! (and to puppybreath, wherever you may be…)
Fellow Baby , “held captive in a bar”, huh? LOL! I guess there are worse places to be held captive if you have to watch a basketball game!
Well, I have to say, my youngest played basketball for a while on a YMCA summer pick up league team. Of course, you know I loved those games! They rarely won but it was fun!
What can I say, Fellow Baby. I could never get into basketball. We played on occasion in gym class, but I much preferred floor hockey. At that time I was a hockey & baseball nut.
I certainly wouldn’t pay to see a game, nor could you drag me out with free tickets.
Spending a holiday in an airport waiting area, how cozy and festive.Good morning Grog, Dry, sugie, StelBel JP Steve and the rest of those using CD to jump start their day.

I thought that was exactly what they did, have a huge external engine they move around to supply power untill the engine can run on it’s own.

Course, if that fails you might “kick start” your aircraft using a shotgun starter (see Coffman engine starter)

Well this may not have kick-started my engine, but it sure kick-started my day.
Good Morning, cleo, sugar, Fellow Baby & the rest of the CD gang

This took me awhile, until I saw the jumper cables. I don’t know, if I were Mel and Fergus, I think I would re-think my plans! :-D
Good morning Fellow Baby, cleo and sugie!
Howdy StelBel, x_Tech and JP Steve!*

It’s not a jump start…they are gonna have babies LOL.
Good Afternoon/Evening Grog, Dry, Cleo, Lonewolf, StelBel & all the hinky CDers out there.
Sorry I’m so late :-( Couldn’t get on earlier and then had other things to do.

Judging by the look on the pilot’s face, I don’t think it’s the plane that’s being jumped-started here.
