When I was a child, we used to play this “game” where we would jump a neighbor’s fence, run across his yard, and jump the fence on the other side.

You won if the dog did not get you and neither did you step in his poop. The dog would chase you but it seemed more interested in barking than biting as it never did get anyone beyond an occasional scratch on the leg from his paws.
