GoComics Creator Resolutions for 2019!
by Charlie UpchurchYour favorite comic creators are just like you — setting resolutions and breaking them left and right. Find out what Nancy, Breaking Cat News, Prickly City, and many other comic artists are trying to do better this year ... and sometimes have already failed at.
Comic celebrities: They're just like us!
Nancy creator Olivia Jaimes simply said, "My New Year’s resolution is to be more cryptic and mysterious." We have to wonder if she's not secretly stewing over something after we read her resolution comic ...
Scott Stantis said, "As far as the resolutions in Prickly City go, I address the frighteningly quick way we fail them. You know what I'm talking about: 'I'm going to get up early and go to the gym (this one is usually one and done), watch what I eat, (this one can last as long as 36 hours if there isn't a special going on at Taco Bell), I am going to live healthier, (until a friend suggests meeting at happy hour).’ I would say we are at least being brave in the attempt, but I couldn't keep a straight face saying it ..."
Connie Sun wants to bring more light into her life: "Every year, I resolve to loosen up and have more fun because, historically, I am bad at this."
Half of the Baldo duo, Hector Cantú, said, "Resolutions are so much easier when your characters are making 'em! I'm pretty lousy with resolutions. I started trying to eat healthier a few months back, so I guess my resolution is to continue my pre-New Year's resolution."
Georgia Dunn of Breaking Cat News and Swan Eaters fame shares her resolution:
"I enjoy coming up with resolutions every year. Some take easier than others ... This year I want to get a little more active. I'm mostly happy with my body, but I know I could use an injection of regular exercise into my routine to keep myself healthy. This year, the BCN crew's resolution mirrors my own — they are hoping to get back into their old fitness routine, 'the 2 a.m. running of the cats.'"
