You stop smiling when you hear the same thing year after year. But it is a good idea to do your Christmas shopping through the year instead of waiting til the last minute. Then you can enjoy the holiday season without a lot of stress. My mom did it this way all the time.

While it is fine that you and your family have your own customs, it does get annoying when you constantly criticize the customs of other people simply because they are not the same as those that you follow.

My family only gives Christmas gifts to the kids. Much easier and easier on the budget :)
Joe-Allen, are you calling the rest of us people not “decent people” when we chose to give gifts for Christmas? Seems like a good way to alienate and irritate just about everybody, including other people who don’t give gifts then but aren’t self-righteous about it.
