Jimbo: It sure is breezy!
Pasquale: Daddy! Grab my hat!
Jimbo: Shouldn't I grab the kitten first?
Pasquale: Oh, yes! Of course!
Peekaboo: Does my situation really require a second opinion?
Cat haters? Where do you get that from? Because I don’t get all warm and fuzzy when the mangy vermin are around doesn’t mean I hate them. I just prefer them to be elsewhere, like the other side of the planet. Bring on the cute squirrels!
Actually you’re extremely wrong. In some families a cat, dog, bird or even a fish can be a loved family member. Whereas with some people even their own children aren’t considered loved family members. Just because you are heartless where pets are considered doesn’t mean everyone is.
erm … kinda depends on the family. I suspect Rose, et al are somewhat like mine, the cat counts, as do the dogs. Not so much the mice. on the other hand, I stick the rake handle in front of the cat while racing after the hat .. LOL
“Squirrels have long claws. They can bite too. I had one climb my leg but I had no food for it sadly.”Forty-two years ago our family bottle fed a squirrel that had fallen from its nest. As I recall, returning it was not possible. It had a sibling, which we let neighbors raise. “Junior Chex” prospered, and we finally transferred him to a large cage we’d built for rabbits and other critters. Soon he proved way too lively to keep in the cage, and we let him go. After that, I recall having to hold a screen door open because Junior was perched on it, barking. (For an example, seehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSv2JooWa-4Junor was not nearly this fat, didn’t squeak as much, and “barked” more.
Unfortunately, the squirrel that the neighbors took in was treated roughly by their teen-age boy. When a woman in the neighborhood opened her front door one day, the other squirrel flew onto her and inflicted damage. Soon Junior disappeared, most likely done in by the irate husband. Truly, squirrels are not pets.

I recall it being near hopeless to rake in heavy wind as new leaves get blown down as fast as I can rake!
