Marcus: Racial perceptions are strange. I'm mixed, but everyone calls me black. Man: Open your eyes, boy! That's another sign of the prevalence of white supremacy! White is seen as pure, so pure that a drop of anything non-white makes it impure. You're never called white because of your impurity. Black is seen as inherently impure, so every mongrel and mutt with a hint of black in them is called black! No offense, of course. Marcus: It's okay. We mutts have thick skin.
