No I live in Los Angeles and know someday we will be in the same situation from an earthquake. It is wonderful to see how people pull together and help out when and where they can. I hope that they at least get the power on to all areas soon
Had three h-canes in one year 2004. Went outside and started cleaning when the eye of one was over us. Nice and calm for a while. Lost the roof that year.
To a limited degree, tree branches, part of my porch roof, but compared to those other poor folks in NY and NJ, NO WAY! Those poor people. I see dip shit Bloomberg FINALLY cancelled the Marathon, the idiot!
we had no electric for one night- not bad. some neighbors are still out. Some nearby damage to homes and boats along the Hudson River. We are not too close to the river so we were lucky. One issue now is gas stations out of gas and long lines at others. We’re one hour N of NYC. Praying for all those who lost loved ones and homes down in NJ and LI.
Emotionally—yes. Signed up to be a montly donor to Episcopal Relief & Development, which assists disaster areas around the world. There certainly have been a lot of them!
I was not; I was glad to see that both of our electric utility cos. from AZ were helping out in Long Island with over 100 linemen and 7 planes full of equipment ;-D
My kids always helped with the dishes as I did when very young. This house (where I moved in 1998) has my first dishwasher. I cooked all dinners for my parent’s family when I reached 7th grade (until I went to college).
