Such is life with any woman’s job!Good morning, “Cathy” clan.

I’ve worked in several large places where emails were monitored by a separate department, where people read emails all day. People have been fired for abusing their email privileges. They were sending stuff like recipes, dirty pictures, male cheesecake photos, and dirty jokes. Cathy and her coworkers should be grateful that the place is small enough that they don’t need anybody to watch over them. lol

Thank goodness I don’t see as many of those “pass this on to 10 people or you’ll get struck by lightning” e-mails as I used to. My personal e-mail now is not nearly as cumbersome as Facebook. I have a dear friend with whom I love to keep up, but she’s started “sharing” ten recipes a day on FB, and I’ve had to block her!I like how in our little Cathy corner we have just enough comments to keep things interesting but not so many you just don’t want to read any at all! Hello to old and new members of our Clan!

My e-mail has reached the point where I have more unread messages than I’m going to live long enough to open. So I’m afraid nowadays, my e-mail sessions consist of ticking the whole page and pressing DELETE!

Sadly, I can’t delete the friends who insist (despite my regular appeals to them) on adding my address to those awful e-mails that have been going round and round and round the Net since it began. trailing thousands of addresses in their wake.

Of course, Cathy’s friends never do that . . . do we?

Just wondering how jokes, recipes, baby photos, love-life disasters, cat stories (cute or not) and hair emergencies fall under the heading of “business messages” anyhow?!? Charlene is right: Cathy needs separate e-mail addresses for business and personal messages, and then she needs to make sure that everyone knows the difference between the two. I would say that that’s the only way to get any real work done when she’s at the office but then, not a single one of those people actually seem to really WORK when they’re there anyhow!!!!!

Hello and Happy Wednesday, fellow “Cathy” fanatics. Hope everyone’s having a really great day today!

Life before Facebook! Employers can monitor company e-mail but not peoples smartphone apps. Gossip will always find a way!

I get anywhere from 20 to 100 emails a day to my business email address (many more to the other three personal ones). But then, my staff is an 8hr drive away so we depend on email and instant messaging to stay in contact. Very rarely do I ever get a joke or chain email to the business address – we have a very small, hard-working staff who don’t have time for that kind of stuff. Well, most of them anyway.When I grab my cellphone and hit the road – it is a dumb phone – no email, no texting, no apps, no video. Just a phone. Well, it does have a camera but I have never used it. I figure when I am not at my desk (which is at home) I don’t care what is happening elsewhere – especially while driving. Many people I know just don’t understand why I don’t have a smart phone.

Yup—the [eye-roll] should cover things once again. Uncanny.
