Poor Irving. Well, she has a LOT of golf to do with him to be fair now, right? ;). I had something similar with my ex. He was very interested in computers, electronics, cars, and fixing stuff. He knew from the beginning I wasn’t, yet he always made me feel guilty about it. I would be stuck for hours and hours in hardware stores, computer places, electronic places, and any place having to do with cars. If I showed lack of interest or didn’t want to go, I “didn’t really love” him. Yet, he was allowed to say anything I wanted to do or was interested in was “stupid” etc., so he wouldn’t ever do things I liked. Very immature! Seriously, go do what you each like separately and do what you do like to do together. You have more things to talk about and will enjoy your time together more. That’s what a grown up relationship is!
Cathy and Irving dated off and on for years so she should know what he’s like by now. If she had really wanted one of those kind of men, then she should have turned down his proposal and held out for someone else. Of course, that would have been an ex-
tremely risky thing to do on her part. She’s a complete whack-a-doodle and at her age, finding someone else who’s as willing to put up with her “quirks” as Irving is was pretty much a once-in-a-lifetime shot for her. That’s why she said “Yes” so quickly when the opportunity presented itself. Better to hope and try to change him into what she thinks she’s really looking for in a husband rather than taking a chance by waiting for someone else to come along, only to maybe end up alone the rest of her life with nothing but 15 or 20 cats and/or dogs to keep her company instead! ;-)
Hi, rgcviper! :-)
quanyindove: Nice to see you here posting with us again! I’m so sorry you had to go through that. Hopefully you’re doing well now and have since moved on to “bigger and better things” in life without him! :-)
Hello and Happy Saturday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyone’s been having a really great weekend so far! :-)
That’s not very mature, Cathy! Stop talking about other people just to make your husband jealous or feel bad or whatever. So mean! A lump of coal!
.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Saturday! Sis, I’m glad you liked the chocolate cake! It’s better than the real thing because there’s no calories. ;-)
Quanyindove, that sounds terrible! I agree that everyone has different interests, and if yours differs from some else’s (esp your SO’s), then don’t put the other one’s down! Poor you!

Don’t be so subtle, Cathy!

Pro tip – you will never turn your guy into the guy you think you want. Also, that guy you think you want…you don’t really want him.
