This sounds like my husband. He’s a techie, so not only does he get what he wants (I don’t know exactly the features etc that he’s looking for), but he tends to get it before events that I want that get him a gift for (Christmas, birthday, anniversary). While I’m not looking for sympathy, it is frustrating because I really don’t know what else to get him. I wouldn’t care so much if he bought things for me to wrap up, or if he didn’t care if we didn’t get him anything else (like I do), but he really wants us to get him a gift to open and I don’t know what to get him!

Hello Cathy clan! Happy Tuesday! Have a great day!

This is why I haven’t been able to buy my husband a Christmas gift on my own for more years than I can count! I really hate that I have to ask him what he wants, because that completely spoils the surprise. But I don’t know what else to do when he buys things for himself during the course of the year so that by the time Christmas rolls around, he says he doesn’t want or need anything ….. which is how he ends up with yet another new shirt or two from Kohl’s. Occasionally over the years we’ve gone in on a mutual gift together, which is what we’re (mercifully) doing this year. We just got new cellphones so I’m giving him one for Christmas and he’s giving me one. Since we’ve already got and are using them because of a good Black Friday deal, there won’t be a Christmas present for each of us to unwrap from the other this year but sometimes that’s just the way it goes. At least it takes the pressure off when it comes to finding him the “perfect” gift when I’ve already got so much on my plate right now as it is after our move this past August.

Exactly the reverse here. My wife tends to purchase anything she needs. On top of that she is really fussy and often does not like what I get her. Clothing and most jewelry is out for that reason. Got smart. Took her to Pandora and had her pick out her own gift. I will wrap it and put it under the tree. Kind of takes the fun out of it but better than her not being happy.

I will admit I am hard to buy for as well as I tend to get the things I need. However, since I hate buying my own clothing any wearable gifts are appreciated. Jigsaw puzzles and Coke memorabilia are also welcome so my wife and daughters do have some ideas of what to get me.

I am rather late checking in tonight so hope everyone had a great day.

    [Eye-roll]? Bought for myself—for free!

I simply had to Google “surround sound shaving mirror” to see if such a thing actually exists. I found a few similar matches on Amazon, though nothing right on. It’s a wonder what some people want, huh?

    HI, MOM. Greetings, Clan.
