This strip is done in BLACK AND WHITE, with shades of grey rendered as dots.

A syndicate COLORIST, working very fast, obviously thought that the grey-shaded wolfman was intended to be brown.

Was he? Probably not.But colorists only get about an hour’s worth of low pay per 6-day week of daily strips.

And they usually have no way to contact the artist to ask, even if they HAD time.
