Transcript:
Janis: It's been so long since I had a dog! I think about it now and then!
Arlo: I don't know.
Arlo: We said we wanted to be free to travel more after, you know...
Arlo: Heaven forbid!!
Had a dog once that was raised with a bunch of cats. Only dog I knew who would only come when called ‘Here Kitty Kitty Kitty’. It hated other dogs with a passion. Talk about identity crisis.
Just remember, if your domesticated dog was the size of a lion, it would most likely still be your best friend, maybe even give its life for you. But if your domesticated cat were the size of a lion, one day it would eat you!
@Susan Sunshine- Hi, Susan! Sorry it’s taken so long to get back, it’s been a busy couple days. I hope you had a lovely day! I’ve always noticed your tomato comments because, before them, I’d never known anyone who was as enthusiastic about garden tomatoes as my husband is. Oh, the production he makes of serving the first beefsteak of the season! (Etc. … ) I guess I find it easy to remember your birthday because we share the number 16, mine is in October. (And, I’m sure you know that you share the date with Charlie Chaplin.) (Again, sorry this is so late. : )
Your birthday is the same day as my late grandmother’s…
and we were born on each other’s half birthday, and vice versa.
I think I knew that, and forgot…
because I remember telling (probably to you) the story of how we always celebrated October 16th with half a cake… usually with my name and hers on it…and a phone call to her, 2000 miles away (a big deal in those years).
If you get a chance… take a look at my message on the June 6th 2006 Agnes strip.I put it there so I could remember it by 6-6-06.
Sorry that’s not a link…. but the calendar is pretty easy….

Arlo may have stopped his mouth but that was not a happy cat walking away.

That Ludwig, what an actor. He should get bigger parts.

I’m sure they could take Ludwig to their son while they travel. I’d like to see how he and his new family are doing anyway.

Maybe this is Ludwig’s swan song, after all, he’s about 20 years old! Would fit with the ending scenario as they sail off i8nto the sunset.

2 Great Dane, 2 coonhounds and 4 cats here. All get along fine. The Cat from Hell sees to it.

The the “Right to lifers” out there: When does life begin? Life begins when the kids leave home and the dog dies…………………

You can travel with a cat at home. Have a friend stop off every other day to refresh the food/water and clean the box.

Sure, they can get by, but they don’t like it and may make a mess to show it.
If they took Ludwig to Gene’s place, he might leave and go back home anyway. Cats are funny that way.
