But what will the grandmother do now that she has given up all the luck which sustained her so far?-Maybe Agnes’ newfound luck will sustain her.-Half way to wretched excess is still pretty much still wretched excess, just as half of infinity is still infinity, assuming we are approaching it linearly.-If we are approaching it exponentially, though, half way to wretched excess might still be a number less than one..-Based on Agnes’ luck so far……

PacoP…. we do know that she lives with her natural grandmother…
and I think it was said it’s her maternal one….but I’m not sure, nor do I know why.
And in spite of what some here like to say….especially those who don’t get Grandma’s off-beat sense of humor…. or see the twinkle in her eye….
they obviously love each other.

I love how Agnes never lets anyone steal her joy.

When I was living in Wisconsin years ago, clover was abundant.
I used to hunt for 4-leaf ones, and found a number of them… plus a few with 5, several with 6, and perhaps 2 with 7.
I would “laminate” them with overlapping strips of Scotch tape on both sides, pressing out air bubbles with my fingernails…
Some I cut around in circles…carried one in my wallet, and gave them as little tokens in birthday cards and such.
Someone accused me of adding extra leaflets under the tape to make 6 or 7…but I showed him that you could clearly see the attachment.
Over the years it was amazing how long many of them stayed green….Most are lost but and I still have a few …er…some place…

Here in California I rarely see clover…. we have lots of oxalis, which some call shamrock, but I’ve never found one with 4 leaves.

Wretched excess will only make you wretched, Agnes.
