My main complaint about dog lovers everywhere! After making it perfectly clear that you did not want a dog, guess who ends up having to take care of it!
Someone mentioned the other day of the alleged healing effects of dog’s saliva, to which I say, balderdash! Do you know where that tongue has been? When dogs lick other dogs, or themselves, it’s usually the opposite end of the face…
So, again, get that thing out of my face!
Better yet, out of my house!
On a positive note, I have come to like the Sunday Gasoline Alley. Whether it’s Rufus and Joel, or the preacher and an odd take on a Biblical lesson, this is the gentle humor that I search for in the comics.
Sadly, to me at least, the gentle humor and fun of Gasoline Alley is ebbing in this particular story arc. I hope that Clovia returns soon to liven things up. I think the daughter character is a good addition, but the daughter/Slim/dog trio is not as successful at humor at least thus far. Perhaps I should just be more patient. However, I do miss seeing Joel and Rufus.
Actually, as was mentioned earlier, she’s taking of him for a friend. The dog isn’t hers. The friend is responsible for the license. The other stuff Gretchen should do where the dog is concerned since she agreed to to look after him, although the friend should have provided the food.
On another note, when I was growing up, there was none of this nonsense about an extra deposit for having a pet in an apartment. I’m glad we have our own house so I don’t have to deal with that.

Maybe now Slim will lose some weight.

I think Slim needs this dog to stay. He can get the exercise and his daughter can do the cooking.

The daughter needs to take dog for walk. Dad can go with them.

Gretchen has literally dumped the dog on poor Slim. He has to buy its food, walk it, and keep it entertained. And, no doubt, clean up poop.
