……this ending…..just doesn’t do justice to the build up, in my opinion. It’s like the plot suddenly changed from a world of mystery to a simple vehicle jacking, complete with typical Tracy winning a one-on-one with the villain. And Sail will walk, too…..how can they PROVE his intentions? They can’t…..
It’s very possible that the story that’s been playing the past couple of months will not reveal everything there is to know about Moon Maid, including her ever-mysterious origin.
Hurray! Fritz Ann! (She’s one of my favorite new supporting characters – obviously.)So who have the Feds been looking into – Dr. Sail? Dr. Ghote? Hy Pressure? Or someone else? And boys and girls – let’s not go nuts about the “F” word (fracking) again. Fracking is just a story element; Hy Pressure looks to be a scam artist/speculator (unless you think rich execs hang out in motels and wear “$” medalions).
I agree with those who have said “relax” – sit back and see where this story is going (or collect it and read it a week’s worth at one time, if one day makes you too impatient)
It is true that Gould’s style was more linear, and Mike and Joe tend to jump around a bit more, but this is still a very “classic” Dick Tracy story, I think. (And I’m not even a fan of Moon Maid)
One thing – if Tracy had damage to his larynx, as Sam thought, how come he was questioning Slellaluna and Retik on Sunday in what appeared to be a normal voice?
Sam had called for help, saying “officer down” – so maybe the medics treated Tracy somehow?
Hmm…. You all assume that Fritz Ann Dietrick is there for someone in the current story arc, but don’t forget who it was she was after before. Blackjack! And, he is still on the loose, as are the others we saw in a bar before this all started.Oy! Indeed. Also, there is a dead Bardoll at Smith Industries. Maybe she is here because of him.
I think the story is progressing nicely. I am totally hooked on how it is unfolding.
I agree with those who say that the story is unfolding like a novel with scene changes and sub plots. It is anything but simple. It is a complex mystery.
They have been nominated for the Harvey Award at the Baltimore ComiCon:

……..well, pardon me for disagreeing, but I think the Dr. Sail part of the story IS pretty much over……they can’t prove he was behind Bardoll’s actions if Bardoll is dead; and really, whatever he did to re-create Moon Maid he will only be an afterthought then. Of course, we will eventually find out who or what Moon Maid is, and that will be interesting and of course the actual end to the MM story, I understand that. I find it ironic I find myself totally agreeing with Timmy this time around though……it isn’t a question of the story ending too quickly, but of diluting the intensity of the current one by constantly diverting to other storyline build-ups. Sort of like when they cut to a commercial at the climax of a tv show….you just can’t really get fully back into the mood sometimes afterwards. I always liked “the Phantom”’s way of doing it……just one story, and then “tomorrow, new adventure”.

C’mon people, stop being so impatient, storytelling takes time (especially 3 panels at a time); would you prefer more 6 week stories?

According to my records, the Mysta story has been going since 4/26, not counting the previous teaser panels and foreshadowing panels

Good morning VB and all. Oy gevalt indeed, Sammy boy.
I’m with those that think we’re nowhere near the end of the MM arc. Seems to me we’re getting the benefit of longer stories by interweaving sub plots.
Vista Bill Raley and Comet™ over 11 years ago
I suspect that MM/Mysta will fade away only to return from time-to-time in brief sequences. We’ll never find the facts about who she really is.
