Are you reading your Daddy’s Home from a place where cactus actually grows?

No, no cacti over here in Finland, other than as house plants and such.

Not dry here in North Central PA. Not until the last 6 days, anyway…

that was last summer in southern indiana. this summer has been unusually wet.

The cactus I prefer is the prickly pear that grows in my front yard. It gives good shade for reading. I have saguaros visible over the walls in my back yard (which is mostly palms and roses). I also grow my own oranges and grapefruit.

Not in Northern Idaho – but we lived in New Mexico for a year – lots of cactus. Amazing how they live with very little water (kind of like weeds) The Occotillo is my favorite.

Since I’m in Missouri I should say no but, there is some kind of small decorative cacti that my mom had in her flower bed. It came back every year till mom tired of it and it was pulled out. I also distinctly remember falling off my bike into a neighbors cactus patch in their side yard. Pulling needles out is something you don’t forget.

It was bugging me so I had to look it up. Both the Big-Rooted and Eastern Prickly Pear, flower and can survive a Midwestern winter. See I knew I wasn’t crazy……

We’ve had small house ones inside but No, we’re in NYS. NOT NYC.

Yes, in New Mexico. Our tumbleweeds are still green and growing and won’t become dried round things rolling under cars for a few months.

That cactus is growing like my cucumbers and zucchini in this heat. I swear, you turn around and they grew 6 inches when you look back! :-D

@Tony, Many states have other cactus but as you showed Saguaro . . . only grow in THIS specific desert.
