The dog is the one I wish they’d dump!

Am I the only one who feels sorry for Slim?

Her agent? Reminds me of when I put out the question, back in 2007, of whether anyone knew what Gretchen did for a living. Nobody knew (and it seemed likely that she hadn’t been seen in the strip since she was in high school, anyway).

Or she could be a model. I read on another website that Gretchen and Rover graduated from high school in 1995. They were born in 1978, so wouldn’t they have graduated in 1996?

Depends on when they started and when their birthdays are. School districts have gotten stricter about the ages kids can enter kindergarten these days. My birthday’s in October and I started a month before I turned five. So I was still 17 when I graduated from high school. Today, the county insists the child has to be five before the school year starts. My nephew was born in December and had to wait until he was almost six to start school because of that rule in his district.

Gretchen was born April 13, 1978. My son was born June 9, 1977, yet they both graduated in 1995. My son never was held back, and he started kindergarten in September 1982 at age five. My eldest son started kindergarten age age 4 because he was born in October. Gretchen and Rover must have skipped a grade because my children never were held back.
