Wonder if it works with international street signs like Ø means “no parking”, not just “no [whatever it’s prohibiting like smoking when it has a cigarette silhouette in it].”
It’s been a long running gag that in San Francisco’s Chinatown the signs say different things. One thing in English and something very different in Chinese.
Oh, for heaven’s sake, Lio! Don’t just stand there gabbing with the signs. If you need to get to the bathroom so urgently, be off with you. You can come back and sign with the signs more afterwards. I don’t want to witness any comic-strip “accidents”!
True story: when I was in college, I called a friend of mine on the phone who knows sign language to ask him how to introduce myself to a deaf classmate. He walked me through the sign for “name” … however, there was a slight miscommunication, and I ended up signing the ASL equivalent of the f-bomb. The “name” sigh is, you hold the index and middle fingers of each hand out and tap them together, perpendicular to each other. For the other, you make the “peace” symbol with each hand and slightly interlock the fingers as you tap yout the thumbs together. In other words, it pretty much looks like exactly what it means.

I think he’s asking the first sign if he can pee on it’s post and and the second sign is telling him to do it to the signs down the block.

Nice little realistic touch to have the paperbox chained to the post.

I’m impressed that Lio can learn different languages! Other than words.
