I have some of the Russian eggs I bought in Moscow. Funny thing is that there they are painted on wood. Lacquered and painted, usually with a Russian Orthodox Church design. They sell the eggs in kits, like we sell model cars. It’s a big pass time over there. And a good way to make money selling souveneirs.

In this day and age it’s makes much more sense to just go for the torch. Or, perhaps you are lucky enough to have a coal furnace of a wood stove.
