It’s a coping mechanism Alice (like chewing your arm off).

If Alice knows the meaning of autodrivelalia, maybe she belongs in kindergarten rather than pre-school! Love her change of expressions from panel 2 to panel 3 as Mr. Otterloop ups the major parental embarrassment ante!

If you can’t sing in your car, we’re all already lost.

I used to tune to a local college station “Polka Party” broadcast when driving the kids to Sunday school. For some reason they always seemed so eager to get out of the car and into the building.

I like Alice’s eyes in panel three. It’s like they’re saying, “GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!”

I attempt to sing to the radio. When i get to parts I’m not sure of the lyrics, I just pretend to sing. Annoys my daughter as much as Alice is annoyed.

Singing when I’m driving with my wife late at night assures her that I’m awake. Singing Gilbert and Sullivan exacts petty revenge for expecting me to assure her that I’m awake.
