Here in Wisconsin, we use a device called a "rake ", a specialist leaf dealing with tool. Think of it as a tined broom.

It’s not the leaves; it’s the blasted husks from the Beechnut trees.

For a change here in KS last few years the leaves not only changed early but came off due to draught. Now since we had lots of rain the leaves are staying green. First day of fall my husband turns older.

I’m waiting to see what happens when leaf duty is over. Does he then get to shovel the snow?

Here in Kentucky we have leaves all over our yard already although most of the trees haven’t started turning. Maybe we’ve imported them from Canada.

We may not hit 90 today – but probably we will. I remember Fall last year, I think it was on a Wednesday mid-November. Then we returned to Indian Summer until Winter, which was, oddly enuff, also on a Wednesday in mid-February.

Different types of chlorophyll die off at different temperatures: Chlorophyll A is dark green, Chlorophyll B is light green, Xanthophyll is Yellow and Carotene is Reddish Orange. Thus the fall colors. Leaf shape and flavonoids vary the response to specific temperatures and can shift color to purples & blues. Sugar acts as antifreeze in evergreens.

Did anyone notice JoJo put on a torn T-shirt and smudged some dirt on his cheeks to get some sympathy? No wonder his parents are not looking at him.

Anything for a buck. JoJo must really need the money. Guess he’s sweet on someone and wants to do something for that sweetie.

Here in Cleveland Ohio, a few leaves have fallen, but not many. Afew more weeks, though, and there will be plenty of leaves.
