No, they raised her to stare at the TV for hours, and eat Ho-Hos and Ding-Dongs.

We tape the stuff we like and its not on ABC, NBC, or CBS I can’t stand laugh tracks!I now can build a house from scratch, decorate it (again from scratch) cook anything (from scratch) and pick the perfect wedding dress (for whom, I do not know) lol

Hmmmm, I get the feeling that Patty was mixed up at birth with another baby at the hospital. No WAY she could’ve inherited the genes from either Joy OR Burl!

Marg has nailed it. We know how Patty was raised. Miracles still happen.

Joy and Burl grew up outside all day. They got bored of that and decided TV was the answer. Watching all the exercise shows were good enough. Then came the cooking shows, Heck they just got caught up in them and HOHO’s wereas well as all the other heat n eat junk.. Why cook? Just sit in front of the TV and eat, eat, eat…

Why would anyone want to tape the weather channel??

I watch TV all day, mostly recorded stuff (TiVo lets me pick shows I might like for “season pass” where I get the first airing of all with no repeats (and if I decide it’s NG, I delete the “pass”). And when I say “watch” I mean actually that it is playing as I do whatever. I.D. Channel has many mystery shows that I can listen to from the kitchen (a good 20’ from counter to TV screen) while cooking or doing other hobby work and I sit down to watch “Chopped” or “Masterchef” while eating, can turn on outdoor speakers with the news while clearing debris from the pool.

That leaves time to read out in the garden where all I hear are birds and waterfall (and windchimes). The only things I watch with full attention are Masterpiece Theater type dramas. Gossip from Wendy Williams and TMZ only get as much attention as they deserve (unless it’s a day that they happen to tape me) . I’m not anxious to be on again until after my facelift (not yet scheduled).

The TV is on a lot when I’m home, mostly to have the sound in the house. The dog doesn’t talk too much. However, I’m usually doing something else (or several somethings) at the same time so usually not watching very much. Like now. TV is on I’m reading comics and have a Keno game running on Pogo.

I actually DO tape some of the news while I’m home (to be assured not to miss the interesting features if I step out, (they have special segments) but that just helps me with more time to FF through all the commercials (and I delete as soon as watched). Never the weather tho- that repeats about every 20 minutes in the mornings (and have that in the corner of my screen for Phoenix & Chicago).
