I have a hockey-loving relative who lived in Leduc, Alberta, Canada who says that the divisions in Leduc Minor Hockey Association for kids are: Initiation, Tom Thumb, Novice, Atom, Pee Wee, Midget and, oh, yes, Female.
Lynn’s Notes:“Boys really can smell terrible. A girls’ locker room might have its ambient whiff, but a room full of young male hockey players can be downright asphyxiating. When it was decided that moms were no longer required for skate tie-ups and supportive hugs, women rejoiced all over town. The news made rink-side hot dogs and all-day coffee taste fine. It was, let me put it this way, “A breath of fresh air!” "

The kids I’ve helped rear didn’t have to wait till the teens to become obnoxious. Actually, some of them mellowed out then.

I would think that helping to get those skates on would be a pain. I’d be thankful too.

I guess locker rooms are called “dressing rooms” in Canada. In the US, only TV stars have dressing rooms!
