An unnecessary evil. I get more work done than anyone with one of those overpriced toys.

How many people use those devices as a phone (their original purpose) and not as a lifeline? I see so many people with their device velcro-ed to their hand, it’s maddening. …And when you tell your workers they can’t use their phones while at work (in a customer service industry), they get all hurt and act like you’re being an ogre. Ahem. I’m paying you to work, not check the World Series score.

Anybody understand IOS 7? After letting it on the iPad I have to answer the security question or put in all information every time I log into a secure site even though I had checked remember me previously. Other problems also.

A cell phone means someone can find you wherever you are—i.e, no privacy. To some that;s an advantage, I guess.

Maybe it was one too many donuts that struck him down?

Pfft, old people. Next thing you’ll tell me is that they don’t use the Internet.

That’s the problem. Some people just lack self-control.

I use my cell phone for times when I am away from home and I need assistance, or need to get in touch with someone. I prefer my landline phone, though; no dropped calls, excellent reception, and I don’t endanger anyone else when I use it (i.e., like people using a cell phone while driving).

Like Casselbury, I use mine when I travel (more than 30 miles from my home) and I use the Garmin in my car when driving to a place I may not otherwise find (even if I also printed a map on my desktop) but TiVo uses my landline for updating both of their devices I have and one of my phone extensions is a FAX. Since I rarely use the cell, only necessary people have the number and everyone knows I prefer to Skype for actual conversations (with my kids, that’s the only way I know I have their attention and they are not on the road).
