This isn’t the Doonesbury brother I remember. What ever happened to the one from the ’80s, the punk-rocker-turned-condom-salesman? Why did Trudeau drop him?
I remember the Christmas my Mother went to jail for assault, my Father to the hospital as the victim, and my brother and I temporarily to my Great Aunt’s house. Got to ride in a police paddy wagon! Ho Ho Ho. Can you say “dysfunctional family”? I knew you could.
Wait a minute. I recall Mike being from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Not often you could drag a tree home to Tulsa behind a snow machine. He’s pulling his brother’s leg?
So the only options are make pennies a day or the sex trade. Do Nikes still go for $125? Glad we’re getting those cheap clothes on somebody else’s labor.
Children shouldn’t be working, the parents should earn enough to raise the child. Thankfully, we have laws in this country against employing children. Sadly, we don’t have laws against American companies exporting jobs overseas. Opening China was Nixon’s revenge, it is too bad that he did not live to see it.

Mike’s younger brother was Ben, who, when he went punk, started calling himself Sal (short for Saliva iirc).

The last I remember of him was years ago when he sold contraceptives under the alias Dr. Whoppee, but it’s clearly the same guy.

Ahhh, memories of a dysfunctional family…. What is “normal” anyway?

You have to learn to appreciate the small stuff. This morning I found out our local bagel shop will be open Christmas morning. Made my day.

How, exactly, do you manage to blow off JUST “a” toe with a freakin’ shotgun?

Kim’s an orphan who was adopted by American white folks. Don’t know if they’re still around, but they’re not in Vietnam.

Night Gaunt 49: The tragic Christmas tale is from Gremlins I. In Gremlins 2 Phoebe Cates starts out on another traumatizing tale, but gets interupted.

Before Benji got into the Sal Putrid phase and condom sales, he was an eager-beaver preteen wanting to become a medical doctor.

The question is what happened to Mike’s sister who visited him at Walden and was hit upon by Mark?
