Owen installed the curtains himself, just so he could make an entrance. Which he does 1084 times a day. MaryLou has seen it one time too many, plus she knows she will be the one to clean up the kitchen.
Owen has a flair…showmanship, style….. all those things that are so compatible with… well, with nothing in his present or past life…
But in his dreams…. oh yeah….in his dreams, a show-business future looms bright.
He knew it in kindergarten, in 1947….he carried it through Ballard Elementary and Ballard High….through 4 years of accountancy at Ballard County College and his 30 years with the North Ballard Accounting and Radio Repair Shack.
Twenty years of retirement haven’t dimmed its luster…
SOME day he’ll be noticed.A talent scout will swoop him away…..some day.
I only hope he didn’t read yesterday’s Nosy Neighbor News.
Some people should not be given ideas. One idea at a time is all they can handle.
Fortunately, for the rest of us, Owen’s flair for the theatrical is inflicted largely on his ever-patient wife in the confines of his home. That said, I have observed one or two dramatic entrances into the Tiki – followed later, by really melodramatic exits, after Fenton has cut him off !
Owen would have more right to be theatrical about the food if he had produced enough to share.
My new friend has a theatrical side as well; I’ve told him I’d like him to post on here (he would so fit in with all the punsters and give Susan a run). We usually make our runs to the kitchen together ;-)
Owen you have arrived, do not be dissuaded. Do not shut down, slow down or get behind. Step up and Ta-Da several times a day. You have brought home the bacon and the gadgets, now light up the light, stir up the pot, wake and bake and toast to your hearts delight. Pay no attention to Shirley, you know she is watching every move you make, she may not say so, but she tells her girl friends all about it; after all you are one of kind and she is thankful for it. On the other hand, its good advise to sleep with one eye open, she may just change her mind. You know once she puts on the bangles, pearls and dots, she is only one step away from the dish towel, use some caution, it was smart not to install the stage lights, best wait another week.
Yes, Mom’ surgery went quite well and she is recovering very nicely. >>>>>>>>>>>>Glad to hear that all went well. I’m sure you both can rest a lot easier. They decided against trying the procedure on Bro. a second time, in hopes that some other medicine will work. The prognosis is pulmonary hypertension, which is high blood pressure in his lungs.SIL says that as long as they have each other, they’ll be fine.
I see I missed a lot while I was away. All those facing uncertain times are in my prayers. And thankfulness for prayers answered. Good night BALLARD DERAS.

Stop by the salon and I’ll glitter your nails.
That’s always relaxing.

Owen Nimmers has no idea that the one with the true theatrical flair in the family is….. TA-DA! …Nina Nimmers!!!

Nina wasn’t happy until she could get her “friends” to do the “high kick” ….!
If her stage career doesn’t take off, she might be successful in constructing plywood holiday lawn displays.
