And we even ask redirection when we are lost. The shame. The humanity.

It’s the reverse at my house. I’m the one that’s knows how these things work.

Does anybody really hold a remote control straight out with a stiff arm and point at the TV? You an even point at the ceiling and it works.

I have to look at the remote. Meaning the remoteS. One for the tv, one for the cable box, one for the DVD player, one for the stereo system, and one for the ceiling fan. Plus a couple of remotes that went with tis I got rid of, but never got around to tossing – somehow they find their way out of the storage bins (with the various phone chargers and computer cables ‘that might come in handy again’) and back into the remote box. Tried getting a couple of those universal remotes, but never got any of them to work correctly. And yes, they are in the storage box.

We have TWO remotes that work in concert to get the %$#@ running. You have to turn on the cable, then the TV (or is it the other way around?), know which of the numbers you mash to get the channel you want, which list you get the number from (there are at least two of them), and which mute on which remote works or doesn’t work, etc., etc. When my husband was on a trip last year, I became real buddies with the Bright House guy on the phone.

McCoy it depends on the remote. TV remote you can point anywhere and it gets the job done. Roku player remote generally, if it is in the right mood will forgive a point up to 20 degrees off. And the DVD player and it’s remote have been at odds with each other since we got it. New batteries? No help. It is worse than a finicky cat and food.

My wife struggles with the TV remote. I like to watch 2 news channels at a time by using the previous channel button. That way you may be able to see more program and less ads. This drives my wife nuts.
